In this Workhuman® episode of “Have a Minute?”, Dr. Patti Fletcher, VP of brand marketing, speaks with Jesse Harriott, global head of analytics for Workhuman, about the data behind Social Recognition® and the power it can have in our organizations.
To Jesse, “moments of gratitude are a powerful force inside the world of work.” Not only do these moments provide opportunities to express appreciation for a job well done, but they also provide us with incredibly valuable data.
“We have about 50 million data points telling us why people are congratulating one another, how they’re collaborating, and the value of those relationships,” Jesse explains. Using data from some of the largest companies in the world, we can learn why employees are engaged and what is making them feel appreciated.
“We are also looking at what’s driving actual business results,” Jesse continues. “And the science behind the data tells us that gratitude will drive safety and productivity,” to name a few key business metrics.
In a time where understanding what makes employees tick is a top priority for organizations, we could all use this kind of data. With the help of Jesse and his team, we can build something better for our employees, one data point at a time.
(Each week, Dr. Patti Fletcher speaks with a Workhuman colleague on how to unlock the power of connection in the global talent economy.)
