Staying Connected: 6 Tips for Building a Culture of Continuous Feedback

Even before COVID-19 changed life as we know it, many companies had already started moving away from the annual review to a continuous performance management approach. In today’s new reality, the idea of an annual review – with its one-time rating system and dearth of peer feedback – seems archaic.

An effective performance management strategy begins with a foundation of gratitude. Through recognition and continuous performance management, employees learn to trust the process and feel safe giving and receiving feedback from both their colleagues and manager. Check-ins with managers become a positive experience rather than creating anxiety and stress, and they give everyone a consistent way to set and reset short-term goals and stay aligned as priorities shift.
