Whitney's Workhuman Journey: From Dancer to HR Leader

From professional dancer to working in human resources and now sales, Whitney Vick has many talents. Oh, and did we forget to say she is also a hand model for Target?!

Whitney’s team members describe her as charismatic, fun and a team player. And when not working she spends her time with her family and siblings (one of five!), and wedding planning with newly crowned fiancé, Daniel. They also have a Mini Bernedoodle, Georgie, who was adopted during Covid lockdowns and has been inseparable with Whitney ever since.

We caught up with Whitney recently to understand her career path to date and how she has brought her multiple passions together to be where she is today.
I was a competitive dancer for one of the very best dance studios in the country beginning at the age of three. Dedicating my days and nights to dance for twenty years molded me into the woman (and salesperson!) I am today.
I cheered for the Minnesota Vikings for four years during college and danced for the Minnesota Timberwolves after. Being in a competitive sport taught me hard work, how to be a great teammate, how to receive constructive feedback, and how to use that feedback to sharpen my skills. Those learnings, as well as many others, have stayed with me throughout my professional career. I attribute the success I’ve achieved so far in my career to those skills that were instilled in me from a young age.

As much as I loved dancing, I knew deep down that I wanted to explore new horizons. After a few years working as an HR Director, my passion for the tech industry ignited. That's when a recruiter approached me with an opportunity in the recognition industry—a field I didn't even know existed. Intrigued by the idea, I took a leap of faith and accepted a role with a recognition vendor.
Little did I know that this decision would shape my career and lead me to Workhuman. The recognition industry stole my heart, and after a few years, I felt the need for a new challenge. That's when I turned to Workhuman—a company at the forefront of the recognition space. The decision to join this incredible organization has been one of the best moves I've made in my professional career.

I am so excited to be coming up on my two-year anniversary with Workhuman and I’m thrilled to see where the company is heading. While we’re already the leader in the recognition space, we have numerous exciting and innovative features on our roadmap. I love working for an organization that’s ahead of the curve and spearheads change. Not only that, but our solutions lift people up and make them feel valued and appreciated. That in itself makes it a joy to wake up every morning to share Workhuman’s mission with HR leaders around the world.
If you’re looking for an opportunity to positively impact peoples’ lives, while working side-by-side with the greatest, most uplifting (and knowledgeable!) people around, look no further. This role is challenging, pushes you out of your comfort zone, rewarding and fun. Making the leap to Workhuman was sincerely one of the best decisions I’ve made in my professional career.
And what’s great is that we have a current opening on my team today- apply and be a part of #LifeAtWorkhuman
