Celebrating National Parents' Day
Our Parents@Workhuman employee resource group (ERG) strives to empower working parents so they can bring their whole selves to work each and every day. Through ongoing opportunities for connection, support, and networking, Parents@Workhuman provides our humans with resources and opportunities to excel in both their parenting and career journeys.
This year’s National Parents’ Day, July 25, is a unique opportunity to celebrate our working parents. Over the last 15 months, they’ve been through a lot (ahem: pandemic and working from home and school from home). We want to recognize parents for all they’ve accomplished during this challenging time – for their perseverance, resiliency, teamwork, collaboration, strength, humor, and unwavering commitment to their families and to Workhuman.

Parents@Workhuman will host a variety of events aimed at educating, celebrating, networking, and giving back. First of these is a speaker series, with topics and guests carefully selected based on feedback from Parents@Workhuman. And, in keeping with our core value of Respect for All, whether a parent or not, every employee is invited to the series and learn something new! We also encourage our team members to bring along their families, because who doesn’t love a cute kid interrupting a Zoom call these days?
The first speaker is Aoife Lee, a qualified parenting expert and mother of three who regularly appears on Irish media. Her non-judgmental approach provides an open, honest, and safe environment for parents and families. During this session, we will learn about:
- Positive parenting techniques
- How to build better relationships with children/teenagers
- Practical ways to manage teen behaviors.

Our second speaker is Josh Levs, an entrepreneur, award-winning author, and the leading global expert on modern fathers in the workplace. The United Nations named Josh a Global Champion of Gender Equality and The Financial Times named him one of the world’s top 10 male feminists. During this session, we will learn about:
- New approaches to modern parenthood
- Why most assumptions and stereotypes about dads simply aren’t true
- How to build a world where equal representation at work leads to better synergies at home and for our families
As part of our National Parents’ Day celebration, we’re also giving back and showing support for our local communities in Dublin and Framingham. Our office in Framingham is hosting a diaper drive to help support A Place to Turn, a local food bank in Natick. In Dublin, we will assemble travel packs of personal goods for teenagers attending St. Ultans, a school focused on disadvantaged children.

Throughout the week we will share behind-the-scenes footage of these events, so make sure to follow our LifeatWorkhumanOpens in a new tab Instagram page and watch how we will be celebrating National Parents’ Day!
