Unwanted turnover is a costly liability and pervasive business issue. 3.1 million American workers voluntarily left their jobs in December—which is more than in December 2007, the first month of the recession. And a recent Towers Watson survey showed 50% of all organizations globally reported difficulty retaining their high-potential and top performers. In fact, according to the most recent SHRM/Globoforce report, retention is the #1 challenge faced by HR organizations—topping the list for the first time in the history of that survey.
