As Senior Vice President of Human Resources at First Tech Federal Credit Union, Chary Krout has dedicated 20+ years of tenure and leadership experience to help employees be their best. Her passion for constantly improving the employee experience continues to a make measurable difference for over 1,500 employees in the areas of compensation, benefits, recruiting and performance feedback. With a keen understanding that the employee experience drives customer experience, Chary created a Leadership Success Report that leverages data and action plans to help leaders see the complete picture of their teams’ impact to the business.
An influential change leader, Chary advocates for employees, demonstrating the credit union’s core philosophy of ‘people helping people.’ In 2012, she helped facilitate the largest credit union merger in history, with record levels of retention across three corporate locations and 35 branches. Today, she continues to blur the lines of traditional HR and business, serving on the Enterprise Data Analytics Council and Workplace Steering Committee, which oversaw the design and completion of a 156,000-sq foot building in 2018.
In 2017, Chary was named ‘HR Business Leader of the Year’ by Portland Business Journal. She sits on the VanderVeldon Foundation board which provides scholarship awards to Pacific University students.
